The guest visitor for the Diesel group's weekend autumn gala was Class 27 D5401 having been brought from the GCR at Loughborough.

Pics show the loco in the reception road with Diesel group members Colin Cooper (top) and Gareth Evans (Bottom) giving it a once over.

The loco once 27 056 & 27 112 is a BRC&W Co product of 1962 vintage formerly at the Northampton & Lamport Railway.

The guest visitor for the Diesel group's Spring gala was Class 73 No 73101

Martin Corbett for the LR Diesel group said:

 "These locos were the last surviving Electro-Diesel type to run on British Rail and are unique in being able to draw power from either third rail electric pickup, or from an on-board diesel engine.

Having rarely strayed far from their native Southern Region it will be nice to sample this loco on diesel power here in Wales, as opposed to being 'on the juice' 'Down South'. I'm certain the enthusiasts will turn out for this rare chance to ride behind this loco here in Llangollen."
