During the week of 8th to 12th October 2007, services were run with 6430 sandwiched between Autocoach 167 at the Carrog end and 163 at the Llangollen end, reflecting the type of train used for local branch lines up to the time of Dieselisation.

The train created a lot of interest, both from the enthusiasts and the general public.
